Photo Tour of CPW
Built in 1948, Camp Potomac Woods has enjoyed a rich history with the Girl Scouts.
Originally, there was only the Dining Hall, Mountford, Knoll, Ridge, and the
Administration building. The land was purchased on May 8, 1948, and the camp opened
a little more a month later with nothing more than 3 tent units, a dining hall, and an old
farm house that served as infirmary, trading post, admin, and everything else that was
needed. A fourth unit came along in 1950, and the camp continued to grow to what it is
